Anchorages
Croatia and its islands have hundreds of harbours but for every harbour there are tens of bays or coves that may provide good sheltered anchorages whether its just as a swimming or lunch stop or for an over-night layover.
They come in all shapes and sizes. Some capable of accommodating yachts of any draught or size while others are limited by their depth and dimensions. Some of the most popular locations now have mooring buoys laid and some will have the ubiquitous seasonal restaurant, but most are idillic, unspoiled and undeveloped.
Be sure to check the charts and the pilot advice before you try any of the anchorages suggested here, each one presents its own problems, necessities and peculiarities in approach, shelter, holding and depth and careful consideration and planing is always required.
But do not be put off, this is the true Croatia. Here are just a few suggestions...
