Pakleni Otoci, Otok Marinkovac, Uvala Stipanska
Situated on the southern shore of Otok Marinkovac at the eastern end of the Pakleni chain this broad but deep bay provides a good and pleasant anchorage. It is usually quite and is big enough that boats need not sit cheek by jowl. Anchor in up to 10-12 metres of water with reasonable holding on sand with weed.
The bay is open to the south and south-east so provides little shelter in those directions and the Island is low but tree covered so provides some shelter from northerly weather. Taking a line ashore provides additional security. There is good swimming and a seasonal bar/restaurant ashore but remember that this island is an (optional) nudist beach. A great place to have lunch or swim, and up until 2009 the bar served good but simple food throughout the middle of the day.
During 2009 the site was taken over by one of the trendy bars in Hvar Town as their ‘Beach Club’ there are no reports on cost or quality for this arrangement. The western half of the bay tends to be favoured for stopping overnight.
Shelter: Open to south and south-east
Depths: Up to 10 metres
Bottom: Sand and weed
Hazards: Nudist bathing
Shore Access: Across beach
Services: Seasonal bar/restaurant and water taxis to Hvar
