.For those sailing in Croatia its not unusual to find a marine fuel berth to be serving cars as well (and at the same time)
.Moor up stern-to or alongside depending on where your fuel tank filler cap is. The marine pumps have a long reach but if your fuel tank is amidships it is still easier to come alongside - however always follow the instructions of the fuel attendants who may give you specific mooring directions.
.Turn your engine off once moored.
.Watch for queues - they are not as easy to spot as at a normal car petrol station.
.At many fuel berths the attendant will pass you the hose to re-fill your tanks yourself. Listen carefully for the tank reaching full as they are likely to overflow (with a spurt) before the pump cuts itself out automatically.
.If you have to refill to return your boat after a charter - bear in mind that many of your fellow charterers will be doing the same. To avoid a long wait try to find some way to fuel up before you get back to your home base.
