Sunsail: Kremik

Sunsail’s base for bareboat charter in the central and northern Damatian coast is at Marina Kremik, around 30 minutes north of Split Airport. Here they charter Beneteau and Jeanneau yachts of 34-50 feet and also several large Lagoon catamarans. Most of the boats at this base are under three years old and many under 18 months.

Saturday during the season (change over day) is a refined form of chaos here, as returning yachts are cleaned and maintained while new charterers are kept happy with briefings and help from Sunsail’s willing staff. Come prepared for a wait, or head of to Split or Primosten to get provisions and see the sights as most boats tend not to be ready until mid/late afternoon (as Sunsail promise).

One slight concern is that in the rush to get boats turned around and out again basic maintenance may be missed. Always check your water tanks and gas bottles are full (on one occasion we thought both were only to find we had half a tank of water on board and only one full gas bottle).

Generally the facilities are good, the yachts are of the highest quality and the staff, who have a massive task to achieve every Saturday, remain calm and helpful throughout.

This company was started in 1997 and now has four bases along the Croatian coast from Rovjin and Pula in the north, Trogir in the centre to Dubrovnik in the south. It charters boats from 31 to 50 feet of various manufacturers.
